A tornado that struck Northern Kentucky on July 21, destroyed at least one barn in Owentown in Owen County, about 45 miles south of Florence. No structural damage has been confirmed in Boone County.

Patricia Dietz told WCPO 9 on July 22, that the tornado decimated her family's barn. Her family arrived within an hour to help salvage belongings, including a Cadillac stored inside. Insurance will cover most but not all of the damage, she said.

More than 10,000 customers across the greater Cincinnati area lost power during the storms, according to Duke Energy. Most had service restored by 9:45 p.m. Tuesday, WLWT reported. A separate tornado touched down in Clermont County, Ohio.

No official statement from Florence city government or Boone County Emergency Management addressing the July 21 storms has been released as of July 23.
