Florence residents looking for a free Saturday morning out can mark Saturday, August 1 on the calendar. The city's Crafts & Classics Festival returns to Bell Park and the Historic Main Street Fire Station, combining local artisans, a classic car show, food trucks, and a Community Photo Contest display under one event.
The city announced full details in a July 22 press release. More than 60 craft and vendor booths will line the park, offering handmade goods, artisan products, and local specialties. Five food trucks are confirmed: Taqueria Nicos, HUDIE Hut-N-Stuff, Dreamys Ice Cream, Steak 'n Shake off Houston Road, and Papa Pats Hotdogs.
Car show benefits Boone County High School
The car show takes place inside the festival footprint. Day-of registration opens at 8:30 a.m., and all proceeds benefit Boone County High School. Classic and modern vehicles are both welcome.
Seven award categories are on the line: Mayor's Choice, Chief of Fire Choice, Best Classic, Best Modern, Best Truck/Jeep, Best Motorcycle, and Top 10 Overall. Mayor Julie M. Aubuchon will present the Mayor's Choice trophy.
Photo contest and parking
Winners of the city's Community Photo Contest will be displayed inside the Historic Main Street Fire Station during festival hours. Event parking is available at Florence Christian Church, according to the city.
