Boone County residents looking for a full-service butcher counter no longer need to drive across the river. The Strip Quality Meats, a locally owned shop at 9196 US-42, Suite F, inside the Union Promenade, has been serving custom cuts, fresh sandwiches, and specialty grocery items since opening in November 2025.

Troy Abbott and Amanda Hunter own the operation, according to the business's website. The butcher counter stocks beef, pork, chicken, seafood, and deli meats, and the shop carries handcrafted sausages, marinated meats, take-n-bake meals, and locally sourced products, according to a press release published Tuesday, July 28.

Beyond the meat case, the kitchen turns out a rotating daily lunch menu. Sandwiches, burgers, and specials are made with the same cuts sold at the counter. NKY content creator Cameron Berens highlighted the shop in a Facebook reel that drew 41,000 views and 328 reactions, noting rotating options like Crispy Asian Chili Chicken, Salmon BLT, and Pork Tenderloin sandwiches.

The shop also sells its chicken breading for customers who want to recreate dishes at home, and stocks specialty pet products, according to Berens' post.

The business sits in a retail corridor gaining momentum. Union City Commissioner Kimberly Tuyn described the Promenade as "getting filled up" in a July report on the shopping center, noting fellow tenants including Braxton Brewery, Graeter's, and UDF.

The shop says it aims to combine quality meats, fresh sandwiches, and personal service in one location, according to its press release.

The Strip Quality Meats is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is closed Mondays. The phone number is (513) 502-5313.
