The Florence Y'alls claimed five Frontier League postseason awards for the 2026 season, headlined by second baseman Brett Blomquist's selection to the All-Frontier League Team and his Rookie of the Year honor.
Blomquist, 23, slashed .320/.428/.543 with a .977 OPS and 16 home runs this season. The North Greenville University alumnus started at second base for the Midwest Conference in the Y'all Star Game and played multiple positions during the season. He became the third Y'alls player to win the Jason Simontacchi Rookie of the Year Award since its inception in 2002, and the second in the last three seasons, according to the team.
Five awards is a franchise high-water mark.
The league's coaches, front office personnel and media also voted Florence the 2026 Organization of the Year. The Y'alls hosted the Frontier League All-Star Game at Thomas More Stadium for the first time this summer, according to the team's release.
General Manager Max Johnson earned the Bob Wolfe Executive of the Year Award. Johnson started with the Y'alls more than a decade ago as an intern before rising to his current role. Assistant and hitting coach Harrison DiNicola took home the Darren Bush Coach of the Year Award.
DiNicola, a former Y'all and six-year professional player drafted by the Miami Marlins in 2018, returned to Florence in a coaching role in 2025.
Blomquist was the lone Y'alls player on the 11-man All-Frontier League squad. The roster featured Washington Wild Things starter Kobe Foster, first baseman Andrew Czech and outfielder Anthony Brocato, the Observer-Reporter reported. Quebec placed shortstop Kyle Crowl, outfielder Chavez Young and reliever Cooper Morgan. Brockton catcher Derek Bender, New Jersey third baseman Felix Stevens, Windy City designated hitter Carlos Pena and Tri-City outfielder Dylan Broderick rounded out the team.
The awards cap a season in which manager Toby Hall, a former nine-year MLB catcher, guided Florence to a 53-46 record. "I think we have the offensive talent. And we can field it," Hall told the team's website after the Y'alls' home opener on May 12.
The Y'alls open a three-game series against the Windy City ThunderBolts at Thomas More Stadium on Sept. 4, with the series winner advancing to the playoffs. First pitch is set for 7:03 p.m.
