Florence Mayor Julie M. Aubuchon will sit down with residents over cider at the city's next community forum on Thursday, Oct. 8.

The free Cider & Chat with the Mayor event starts at 8:30 a.m. in Community Room C at the Florence Government Center, 8100 Ewing Blvd. Aubuchon and city department leaders will be on hand to answer questions, hear feedback and discuss city services, projects and upcoming initiatives, the City of Florence announced on X.

The forum is the latest in a series of informal sessions the city has hosted in 2026 to give residents face time with leadership. A Coffee with the Mayor event on Wednesday, April 29, drew enough interest that the city followed up with plans for a Cookies & Conversations with the Mayor on July 9, according to a notice on the city's website.

That July event was canceled due to what the city described as unforeseen circumstances. The city directed residents to the Oct. 8 Cider & Chat as the next chance to engage with Aubuchon and her team.

Aubuchon has spoken positively about the format. She told the city council that a prior Coffee with the Mayor event drew strong attendance and that she and department heads had productive conversations with residents on a range of topics, according to council meeting minutes.

The city has described the forums as an informal way for residents to connect with leadership, ask questions and learn about city operations outside of a formal council meeting, according to a separate cancellation notice. The city has not announced which specific department heads will attend the Oct. 8 session.

Residents with questions can contact the Administration Department at 859-647-8177.
