The City of Florence is capping off summer with a mini golf tournament and free outdoor concert at World of Golf on Aug. 29, giving families one more reason to get outside before school routines take over.
The tournament runs from 4:30 to 7 p.m. and is open to all ages. Prizes will be awarded across multiple age groups, and a special prize goes to anyone who sinks a hole-in-one. Once putters are down, Northern Kentucky duo Devoto & Patterson take the stage at 7 p.m. for a free concert that runs until 9 p.m.
The city announced the event on its official X account on Aug. 14. The city's event page confirms the concert is free, though neither posting specifies whether tournament entry carries a separate fee. Regular mini golf rates at the venue are $5.50 for children 11 and under and $9.50 for adults.
World of Golf sits at 7400 Woodspoint Dr. in Florence. The city-owned facility features an 18-hole executive course designed by Dr. Michael Hurdzan that opened in 1969, plus a driving range, mini golf course and restaurant. Residents can call 859-371-8255 for details.
Florence has hosted similar mini golf tournament and concert pairings at the venue in prior years. City council meeting notes from Aug. 26, 2025 reference a comparable event that featured the What About Jane Band.
Devoto & Patterson, a local duo featuring Gary Devoto and Mark Patterson, regularly perform at World of Golf and other Northern Kentucky venues.
