The Florence Community Band will bring Halloween-themed music to the Boone County Main Public Library in Burlington on Monday, Oct. 26, at 7 p.m.

Admission is free. Costumes are encouraged but optional.

The concert is open to all ages, according to a City of Florence announcement. Attendees can come in costume or street clothes and enjoy an evening of live music at the library, located at 1786 Burlington Pike.

The band is a City of Florence-sponsored nonprofit with about 105 volunteer musicians. Its members include retired band directors, former military band members and high school band students. No auditions are required. Anyone with an instrument can join.

The group performs about 15 concerts a year, playing traditional concert band literature alongside popular and contemporary pieces. Earlier this year, the band planned a free outdoor concert at Boone Woods Park on July 18 featuring music by Stevie Wonder and Miami Sound Machine, according to the City of Florence on X. That concert was moved indoors due to inclement weather. The Boone County Public Library served as the rain backup for that show.

The band rehearses Mondays from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Florence Government Center, Lower Level, on Ewing Boulevard. Its full schedule and membership information are available at florencekycommunityband.com.
