Conner football player Mason Buckler left the hospital Saturday, Sept. 26, with normal test results after being taken off the field by ambulance during Friday, Sept. 25's game against Cooper in Hebron.

Conner head coach Chase Floyd posted on Facebook on Sunday, Sept. 27, that Buckler is "good" and that all tests and imaging came back normal. WLWT first reported Floyd's update on Monday, Sept. 28.

"We told him to take as much time as he needs to recover, he said he wants to get back on the field asap!" Floyd wrote in the Facebook post, according to WLWT.

The game was Conner's homecoming, and the ambulance call left fans in the stands shaken. Buckler, who wears No. 14, was identified by the Cooper Football program, which posted on X on Friday, Sept. 25:

Cooper Football: "Cooper Football is sending their thoughts and prayers to #14 Mason Buckler of Conner Football. Stay strong #14!"

No available account describes what happened on the field before the ambulance was called. Floyd's post did not detail the nature of the medical incident, and WLWT's reporting did not include further specifics.

Cooper won the Class 5A, District 6 game 22-21, as we reported Sept. 26. The loss dropped Conner to 1-5 on the season. Cooper improved to 4-2 and extended its district winning streak to 10 games over three seasons, according to the NKY Tribune.

Floyd, who took over as Conner's head coach after eight years as an assistant in the program, thanked fans for their support in the same post. But the line that stuck was Buckler's own message relayed through his coach: he wants back on the field as soon as possible.
