Hebron Fire Protection District Chief Adam Peddicord has been appointed to the Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services.

Gov. Andy Beshear named Peddicord and more than 20 others to state boards and commissions on Aug. 28, The Lane Report reported. Two other Boone County-area residents were among the appointees.

Peddicord, who lives in Independence, replaces Benjamin Neal, whose term expired. He will serve on the board through Aug. 16, 2030.

The Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services (KBEMS) certifies first responders and emergency medical technicians and licenses paramedics and ambulance services across Kentucky. Peddicord's appointment puts a working fire chief from Boone County on the state body that oversees those credentials.

Burlington's Patricia Talbert was also named in the Aug. 28 announcement. Talbert, associate director at Broadleaf Behavioral Services, will serve on the Kentucky Early Intervention System (KEIS) Interagency Coordinating Council through Aug. 26, 2029. She replaces Catherine Lowe, whose term expired.

The KEIS council oversees a statewide program providing services to families with children who have developmental disabilities from birth to age 3. Kentucky created the program under the federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

A third area resident, Joe Bricking of Independence, was appointed to the Kentucky Board of Education. Bricking, director of business development for Camco Chemical Co., replaces Tiffany Payton, who resigned. His term runs through April 14, 2028.

The Aug. 28 appointments also included new members of the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy, the State Advisory Panel for Exceptional Children and the State Advisory Council for Gifted and Talented Education.
