Florence City Council will take its first binding votes July 28, on a commercial parking lot for Mackenzie and Paige Logistics and a fenced playground for children with special needs at Already Autism Health's Ewing Boulevard clinic.

Both ordinances are first readings. A second vote at a later meeting is required before either takes effect.

M&P Logistics truck parking

Ordinance O-20-2026 would let M&P Logistics develop a 1.7-acre parking area along the east side of I-71/75, between Tanners Gate Lane and Tanners Lane, for 21 box trucks, 21 semi-tractors, and 50 passenger vehicles. The site sits immediately west of the company's existing facility at 7900 Tanners Gate Lane.

M&P Logistics is already a significant Florence employer. Council approved a Kentucky Business Investment incentive for the company 6-0 on May 1, 2024, to relocate operations within the city and create 120 new full-time Kentucky-resident jobs, according to city meeting minutes. The Boone County Planning Commission recommended approval of the parking plan with conditions, according to the July 21 caucus agenda.

Already Autism Health playground

Ordinance O-19-2026 would approve a concept development plan for Already Autism Health, an Applied Behavior Analysis therapy provider also known as Commonwealth ABA, to install a fenced playground for children with special needs in the front yard of its 2.174-acre site at 7627 Ewing Blvd. The Boone County Planning Commission also recommended approval of this plan with conditions.
