Florence's next Neighborhood Night Out brings a free meal and live music to Florence Nature Park on Thursday, Oct. 1.

The event runs from 5 to 7 p.m. at the park, located at 7200 Nature Park Drive. The City of Florence announced the gathering on its official X account on Sept. 21.

DJ TeddyGi will perform. A free meal will be served.

The series gives residents a chance to ask questions and hear updates on city projects, according to the city's website. Past editions have featured city department booths where residents could meet representatives from Florence Police, Fire/EMS, Public Services and Administration, along with members of Florence City Council. Melissa Kramer, the city's clerk and public relations administrator, serves as the media contact for city events.

Series rotates through Florence parks

Neighborhood Night Out has moved to a different Florence park each time it's held. The most recent gathering took place Friday, Sept. 11, at South Fork Park, where the city paired the cookout with an outdoor showing of Disney and Pixar's "Inside Out 2." In a Sept. 16 post, the city said there was plenty of joy to go around at that event and invited residents back for the Oct. 1 edition.

Past locations have included Lincoln Woods Park in September 2025 and Kentaboo Park in September 2024.

The Oct. 1 gathering marks the first time the series visits Florence Nature Park, a 15-acre green space off Banklick Street. The park features a paved walking path, a gazebo, picnic tables and the Nature Park Event Center.
