The Florence Aquatic Center is squeezing three special events into its last full week of daily hours, giving families a final push to hit the water before Boone County students head back to class Aug. 19.
The lineup starts Aug. 5 with an Open House, continues Aug. 7 with Senior Day, and wraps up Aug. 8 with $2 Slush Puppie Day. After Aug. 9, the center shifts to weekend-only hours for the rest of the season.
The City of Florence announced the slate on its official social media account Aug. 3, noting the center isn't slowing down and neither is the heat.
What to know
The aquatic center at 8200 Ewing Blvd. has been open daily since May 23. Once daily hours end Aug. 9, the facility reopens on weekends starting Aug. 15 and runs through Monday, Sept. 7, Labor Day.
Memberships and day passes are available in-person only. The center features a lazy river, competition pool, zero-depth accessible pool, two spray grounds, spiral and speed slides, and a concessions area. No outside food or coolers are permitted.
The Open House carried a $5 admission price last year; the city has not yet confirmed the 2026 price. Residents can call (859) 647-4619 for details on any of the events.
