Biscuit Belly, a Louisville-based brunch chain, opened its first Florence location at 6785 Houston Road, Suite 500.

The city held a ribbon cutting for the restaurant Sept. 4. The City of Florence announced the opening on X, describing the restaurant as a Southern-inspired spin on comfort food built around biscuit sandwiches.

The Florence spot is one of the chain's first in the Greater Cincinnati market. The Cincinnati Business Courier reported in August that Biscuit Belly planned to open its first Cincinnati-area restaurants in September, including locations in Florence and Deerfield Township, Ohio.

Chad and Lauren Coulter, both former pharmacists, founded Biscuit Belly in Louisville in 2019. The menu features biscuit sandwiches such as the Rockwell, made with buttermilk fried chicken, cheddar and sausage gravy, and the Hot Brown, an open-faced biscuit topped with turkey, smoked gouda mornay, bacon and roasted tomato. The restaurant also serves chicken and waffles, French toast, pancakes and cocktails including mimosas and espresso martinis.

The Fayetteville Observer reported the chain had 14 locations across six states as of September 2025. The Florence and Deerfield Township openings expand that footprint into the Cincinnati region.

Biscuit Belly joins a growing restaurant lineup along the Houston Road corridor. Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers opened at 4990 Houston Road in April 2024, and Dave's Hot Chicken at 4960 Houston Road was listed as "in the works" in the city's 2024 Economic Development Report, published in March 2025. That same report put Florence's retail vacancy rate at 2.17% across more than 2,000 businesses.

A second Greater Cincinnati Biscuit Belly location is set to open in Mason, Ohio, on Sept. 18, CityBeat reported. Hours and grand opening details for the Florence restaurant have not been announced.
